Curtis Whitwam

Born in Florida, Curtis has been spending time in the natural places his whole life. He has been immersed in ocean waters, rivers and springs where he finds connection and inspiration. Curtis is a long distance paddler, he has taken to the waters along the Suwannee, Santa Fe, and Hillsborough Rivers in addition to hiking most of the Appalachian Trail. His purpose through his art is to inspire others to fall in love with the life supporting ecosystems to foster protection of these treasures. 

Curtis Whitwam works in watercolor and acrylic paints on a variety of surfaces. He employs a special layering technique with watercolor that creates great depth as he explores the patterns that exist in all natural systems.
